Welcome to the Mosterton Parish Council Website

Mosterton Parish Council works in the interests of the village’s residents and to maintain and improve its rural heritage and its amenities, working in partnership with other groups, including the Village Hall Committee, Parochial Church Council, primary school, pre-school, the Admiral Hood pub and various village-centred activity groups.

The Parish Council also works closely with Dorset Council and its local Member and is well-supported by the Dorset Association of Parish and Town Councils. It leases a small allotments area of just 17 plots and owns the Village Green and the play park, including the field, the children’s play features and the exercise equipment.

The Village Green is a well-used and attractive village feature, bounded on one side by the River Axe. It is host to a variety of events each year, including the annual Bands on the Green event in late July featuring a range of musical genres.

MOSTERTON PLAY AREA installation works: Work to install the new multi-play structure began on Monday 30th January 2023 by contractors of the suppliers and is likely to take up to two weeks to complete. Users should be aware of two fenced-off areas, one in the play area itself and a smaller one at the back of the field. For your safety and that of others please do not try to enter the fenced-off areas where work is, or will be, taking place. Thank You.

We have received (21.01.2023) an alert that the bridge on footpath CH 20/13 is in a poor state of repair and has been closed until repaired by Somerset Council.  The footpath stretches into Dorset and Mosterton parish.
